Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship

The Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship is a comprehensive program designed to support high school seniors from underserved and underrepresented communities who are pursuing degrees in computer science and engineering. This initiative aims to provide financial assistance, paid internships, and career development opportunities to students aspiring to enter the tech industry.

🎓 Scholarship Overview

  • Award Amount: Up to $40,000 ($10,000 per year for up to four years)

  • Internship Opportunity: A paid summer internship at Amazon after the freshman year of college

  • Renewability: The scholarship is renewable for up to three years, contingent upon maintaining full-time enrollment and satisfactory academic performance

  • Total Awards: Up to 400 scholarships awarded annually 

📋 Eligibility Criteria

To apply, students must:

  • Be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or employment authorized to work in the U.S.

  • Be a high school senior planning to pursue a bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field

  • Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.3 on a 4.0 scale

  • Demonstrate financial need

  • Have completed or be enrolled in a high school or college dual degree course in computer science or engineering; if not, applicants can opt to take the Amazon Future Engineer assessment 

📝 Application Requirements

Applicants must submit:

  • An online recommendation from a teacher, preferably in computer science, robotics, or engineering

  • An unofficial high school transcript

  • A copy of the first two pages of the most recent IRS 1040 form(s) from the student's household

  • Optional: Completion of the Amazon Future Engineer assessment if the student has not taken a qualifying computer science or engineering course

  • Application Deadline: January 9, 2025, at 3:00 PM CT

  • Notification of Awards: By May 15, 2025
