Burger King Scholars Program

The Burger King Scholars Program, managed by the Burger King Foundation, offers scholarships to high school seniors and employees of Burger King and their families. Established in 2000, the program honors the legacy of co-founder James W. McLamore and has awarded nearly $60 million to over 51,000 students across North America .


๐ŸŽ“ Scholarship Overview

  • Award Amounts:

    • Three WHOPPER® Scholarships of $60,000 each

    • One Nancy McLamore Scholarship of $20,000 for a deserving Burger King Team Member

    • Up to Six King Awards of $10,000 for Team Members across six regions

    • Up to 12 Regional Awards of $5,000 for the most qualified Team Members in six regions

    • Over 4,000 $1,000 scholarships for high school seniors and Team Members in the United States, Canada, Guam, and Puerto Rico Eligibility Criteria:

    • Open to high school seniors, Burger King employees, and their families

    • Applicants must plan to enroll full-time at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school in the U.S., Puerto Rico, Guam, or Canada

    • Minimum GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale

    • Demonstrated financial need, work experience, extracurricular activities, and community service

  1. Create an Account: Visit the Burger King Scholars application portal to register.

  2. Complete the Application: Provide personal information, academic history, work experience, extracurricular activities, and community service details.

  3. Submit Required Documents:

    • Official or unofficial high school transcript

    • Financial need documentation (e.g., FAFSA or family income details)

    • Essay responses (if applicable)

  4. Submit the Application: Ensure all sections are complete and submit before the deadline.
